This Sunday morning begins the OBCC Mission Convergence - where we start looking for opportunities to converge with our community in ways that impact our homes, our neighborhoods, and our world for the Kingdom of God. The goal: To share the love of Christ with EVERYONE.
In addition to table displays by many of our own ministries, we'll hear from missionaries who minister in our own backyard, and some from around the world. This Sunday we'll welcome John Schwider with Royal Family Kid's Camp, and one of our own: Pastor Dave Nelson. Pastor Dave served as Youth Pastor at OBCC several years ago, and is currently pastoring Great Lakes Church, a new church plant in Kenosha, WI.
Pastor Dave will kick off our Missions Convergence by discussing some challenges that are very similar to those we face here at OBCC. He'll talk about the challenge of reaching out to people in a community where 70% don't attend church, the fear of stepping into the unknown, and the excuses we make to God that hold us back from doing what He wants us to do. And he'll talk about the domino effect that occurs when you reach young adults, most of whom like Jesus, but don't like church. These are the same challenges that we face each day as Christ-followers trying to impact our community.
Join us Sunday morning at 8:30am 0r 10:30am. It will be an exciting morning and a great way to kick off the Convergence.
